Eileen Ruth Combs

Died December 17, 2020 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband, Harold (Buzz); brother Robert; sisters, Helen, Pauline, Jennie, and Virginia. Survived by her son, Robert (Valarie) Duemmel; grandchildren, Lyndsie Duemmel & Bailey (Aaron) Massey; great grandson, Oliver Massey; and multiple generations of nieces and nephews.

Eileen was born in Rochester and was a 1944 graduate of West High School. She worked many years at Gerber Baby Foods, after that she worked as a Paraprofessional for the Rochester School District. Upon completion of her working years, she spent a number of years as a volunteer at Strong Memorial Hospital on the Pediatric Unit.

Her greatest passions were attending her grandchildren’s sporting events no matter what the weather conditions were, and camping with Buzz, traveling to many locations across the country and eventually settling on a spot at Gravel Ponds Campgrounds in Caledonia NY, where they enjoyed many special times with their camping family; especially their dear friends Don and Shirley Mosele.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to; UR Medicine Hospice or Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Due to COVID visitation limitations; a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
