Freda’s family immigrated to Waterville Maine from Lebanon in the early 1900’s where they were an integral part of the Lebanese Maronite Community. She graduated from Waterville High School and Burdett College at Boston. She attended Pratt Diagnostic Hospital and Boston City Hospital, studying
X-ray technology. She was the Chief X-ray technician at the Plummer Memorial Hospital in Dexter, ME, and at the Sisters of Seton Hospital in Waterville, ME. She was a woman ahead of her time and believed that education and career were important. She married in 1956 and relocated to Rochester, NY where she raised her daughter, although Waterville, ME, was always considered home.
Freda loved her family unconditionally, especially her grandchildren, who assisted in her daily care. She was devoted to her faith and celebrated the traditions of her Lebanese heritage. She was a strong woman with a kind heart who cared for so many. She touched many lives and for that we all have been blessed.
We would like to extend our appreciation for the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion Waiver Program which allowed Freda to remain home. Also to the Center for Disability Rights, to All About You Home Care, Inc., Visiting Nurse Service, Home Instead, Medical House Calls for Seniors.
