Mark, my Gentle Giant, I will miss your smiling face each week. AMF Gates Lanes will not be the same without you every Sunday morning. I guess the Lord is recruiting you to a better bowling team, but he left your partner extremely sad. Mark, I have been struggling to find the right words for a couple of days now because your passing still seems so surreal to me.  Surreal because you were one of those people who were bigger than life and made the most out of living it everyday.  The roots of our friendship stem way back from riding our bikes as tykes, sleepovers, waking early mornings to get your paper route done, neighborhood football/soccer games followed by Marco-Polo in your backyard swimming pool, even the days of lighting fireworks off late at night in Westgate Park (complete with police escorts home, of course).  You were like a big brother to me. As we got older we didn't always make the right decisions, but you were there to make the bad ones with me.  I still vividly remember sitting very uncomfortably behind you in the back seat of your old Camaro.  I also remember the day you sadly traded the Camaro in too.  I stood by your side at your wedding and and looked forward to the gray haired days when we would laugh together at old memories. Somewhere, somehow, life got in the way and we unfortunately lost touch with one another over the last few years. There is nothing I regret more now in retrospect. I'm gonna miss your laugh, your jokes and your outlook at life. You're one of a kind and heaven just got that much better.  I love you Hogue.  I cannot wait to see in the next life.  Rest In Peace, my friend.

Mark, from the moment you were born, you had an impact on me.  I loved helping Mom raise you, and I couldn't wait to grow up and have a son like you.  I did my best to stand in for Mom since you lost her so early in your life.  I am devastated that I can't talk to you and see you and hug you anymore, but I will always have a special bond with you, regardless of where you are.  I love you so much honey, and I look forward to the day that all of us are together again.

So sad. I did not know Mark as well as everyone else signing his guestbook, but it took only meeting Mark once to see he was a special and kind person. I used to bowl with Mark and he was always happy to see his direct competition do well. That is the type of person he was. RIP Mark. You will be missed.

Mark was one of the patients I will never forget...a reminder of why I do what I do.  I was so sad to hear of his death.  Phyllis and Christine, my thoughts are with you and your family.

My very first partner in crime- we grew up riding on each other's bike handlebars and turning anything we could find with wheels into a go-kart. I was always "one of the boys". Whenever anyone asks who my first friend was the answer was always Mark Hogue. One of my favorite summertime activities was getting up at the crack of dawn to deliver papers and then ride our bikes to Perkins for breakfast, which was generally a shared order of fries. I hope every day that my kids will grow up having some of the great memories that we had.

Mark I just spoke to you recently and you said you were getting out of the hospital soon. I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. I had so many fun memories with you swimming,  golfing, dinner and our long talks. You always made me feel incredible and I couldn't help but love you. I only wished I had the chance to tell you.

So shocked to hear the news of your passing. I will always remember the times you hung out with my brother Sam playing Basketball, riding bikes up and down Hinchey Rd. Mark I will never forget the day i came into the car dealership that you worked at and saw your name on your cubicle and I said your name out loud and at the same time you heard me you peeked out and saw me I will never forget the hug that you gave me. Like they say the
good die young. You are one of them RIP.
