Aunt Mary was an exceptionally intelligent and gracious woman. She was also beautiful. Rest in peace dear aunt, with your beloved husband,Frank.

Aunt Mary was an extremely kind, and intelligent women who lived her life with the utmost grace, compassion and love for her family and friends. She broke all of the stereo types of what it means to be a senior. In fact, the word "senior" doesn't fit her at all.  Both Aunt Mary and Uncle Frank had this youthful energy throughout their lives.  Whether they were taking computer classes in their late 80's, dancing us all under the table at family gatherings (getting that "second wind" while the rest of us faded), or tirelessly taking care of the ones she loved (even in her late 90's).  She showed us all by example how to live a rich and full life.  For that I am thankful. I'll especially hold her close with the wonderful memories she has left us with through the years. May God bless you Aunt Mary!

Aunt Mary was an intelligent, beautiful and always elegant woman.  May she rest in peace.

We send our sympathy and prayers to Mary's family. Getting to know Mary was a blessing. Since late 2012, we visited her most weeks from Holy Ghost Church to bring her Holy Communion. She would invite us to stay after prayer for tea and cookies and chatting. We were newly married in 2012 and her stories and advice taught us about patience, thankfulness, and devotion to family. She also shared with us her devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. We pray for the peaceful repose of her soul.

I only got to know Aunt Mary later in life, but I always enjoyed visiting her in Rochester with Stan and Carol. She was a dear lady who provided a great example of what it means to age gracefully.

 Aunt Mary graduated at the top of her high school class.  

She would  have gone far in this world had she been born under different circumstances.  

Aunt Mary was a great addition to the Gomes family.

My family first knew Mary when she lived next door to my grandparents, Virginia and Manuel Rodrigues and their children on Buffalo Road. She was neighbor and friend to my aunts and uncles. Then I became friends with Mary after meeting her in the Rochester Portuguese American Association. She became treasurer of the club after I left the post and her, my husband and I became friends with her and her husband Frank when we were on the fiscal council and went over the books together. She was a very smart woman. I believe she was the very first woman ever to become president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club. She kept very busy. Proud to have know her. RIP Mary with your dearly departed Frank.

Remembering dinner with Aunt Mary on 12/17/15. As usual I knelt down to hug her goodbye and said 'I love tall women'.  She always smiled when I said that.  We'll meet again someday.

Many visits to Aunt Mary on Elmgrove road and  Gomes Park.   The green tea,  The chocolate chip cookies,  and her humor.  I loved ribbing her and when she threw it back at me, she beamed with her smile and my afternoon was complete.   The mother of Thank you notes,  your love and caring for all, always giving your best, thank you for being  "AUNT MARY" You give all your nieces and nephews bragging rights.

Aunt Mary and Uncle Frank were always there for us. From first communions, to graduations, to weddings, holidays, and everything in between, they always participated with love and grace. Aunt Mary was the proud, last member of her generation that saw everything from the first radios and tv's to pc's and cell phones. Some how they never were overcome with the changes. Thank you for her loving spirit and may she and Uncle Frank rest peacefully as we all deal with her loss...Stan and Greta Kopec

Aunt Mary was a lady before her time.  She always thought of others and had a religious fortitude that has sustained her throughout her 99yrs, 5mo and 5 days.  She did it her way.  Love you always.

I will miss our talks and cards. Thank you for all the memories. At peace knowing you are in the loving arms of all our family. RIP
