Born on October 18, 1941, to Newton and Emily Conklin in Rochester, New York, William lived with a generous spirit and a joyful heart. Known for his kindness and adventurous nature, William had a way of making people feel seen, welcome, and valued.
William is predeceased by his parents and survived by his sisters, Gayle Conklin and Elizabeth Quindlen.
William studied at Clarkson University, which led to a career in the Unites States Army. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander, a mark of his high leadership and responsibility. He later established the computer system at New York Life Insurance Company.
He found joy in computers and especially treasured time spent helping others. William shared the importance of loyalty and service.
His family lovingly remembers William. A celebration of life will be held on February 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Genesee Baptist Church, 149 Brooks Ave. in Rochester, New York, where family and friends are invited to share stories, laughter, and memories in honor of William Conklin. The family is requesting that, instead of flowers, donations be made to Genesee Baptist Church.
