Angie E. McCoy, 81, of South Heights, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver. She was born March 28, 1932 in Groveton (Coraopolis), PA, daughter of the late Lee and Annette (Elder) Caton. For many of her employment years she was a waitress at local social clubs such as the BPOE Elks and the FEZ.
For Angie, life was all about her family. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a special, kind and caring neighbor who was always willing to extend a helping hand or lend a listening ear.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Tommy, Richard and Lee Caton; and five sisters: Lea Fetsko, Kathleen Karipin, Alice Pugh, Elizabeth Brogley and Marguerite Gunkle. She attended St. Catherine Church, Weirton.
Angie is survived by her husband of 62 years: Donald McCoy; one son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Lorrie McCoy, Jr., Hopewell Twp.; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Debra and David Shipman, Monaca; Ruth Ann Austin of Kentucky; Annette and David Thompson, Selah, WA; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Danny and Shirley Caton, Hopewell Twp.; Edward and Priscilla Caton, Hopewell Twp.; John Caton, Hopewell Twp.; Joseph and Joanne Caton, Houston, TX; one sister: Annette Butz, Dubois, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A Blessing Service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, in the funeral home with The Rev. Fr. Bill Palentino, officiating. Private entombment will follow.
