

Daniel J. Harvey, 75, died unexpectedly on Sunday December 26, 2021, in Cypress, TX. He was born November 15, 1946, in New Castle, PA, the son of James C. Harvey and Gertrude A. (Ridenour) Harvey.
As a child he loved working on the family ranch and riding his horse, Sunny. Dan cherished his family, country music, food, and all sports, especially football and the Dallas Cowboys. His faith never wavered, and he enjoyed listening to the word of Jimmy Swaggart. He was a member of the Moose Club since 1993 and enjoyed visiting local Moose Clubs in New Castle, PA, Smyrna, GA, and Cypress, TX. He lived in Smyrna with his son Dwayne for four years before moving to Cypress to be near his daughter, Stacey and son-in-law, Russell for the last fourteen years. He was very patriotic and served a short term in the United States Marine Corp in 1965.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his eldest son, Christopher Alan Harvey; one brother, Richard Harvey; and three sisters, Dolly Johnson, Shirley Kosior, and Linda Yohe. He is survived by two children, Dwayne “Goober” (Tara) Harvey and Stacey (Russell) Overcast; four granddaughters, Alexina (15), Samantha (12), Riley (8), and Reagan (6); and four brothers and sisters, David Harvey, Charles Harvey, Betty Redick, and Doris Pounds.
A service of remembrance will be held from 12pm - 2pm Saturday, January 8 at Saul – Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074 (Sylvania Hills Memorial Park). Interment will follow at Savannah Cemetery, 190 Bessell Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
