5 January, 1972 – 15 November, 2019
Denise Joy Stead, “Dee”, 47 of Ambridge, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2019 following a sudden illness. Denise was born January 5, 1972 in Sewickley, daughter of Michael Erwin and Dolores Diane (McLaughlin) Stead. She was a graduate of Monaca High School and attended the Community College of Beaver County. For many of her adult years she made her home in Ambridge. Known affectionately as “Dee” by family and friends, she was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Dee was proud of her father’s service in the Marine Corps, respected and tested the bond of her mother’s love, cherished her brother Michael, valued the trusted confidence of her sister Stacey, and adored her nieces as they were her children. Through the years, Dee was employed in a variety of service related positions, most recently with Goodwill Industries, Cranberry Township. She was a people person but also enjoyed the quiet refuge of her own place that she called home. Dee loved animals, particularly her best buddy “Kitty”. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and a caregiver at heart. Dee was preceded in death by her brother: Michael L. Stead, February 25, 2016. She is survived by her parents: Michael and Dolores Stead, New Sewickley Township; sister and brother-in-law: Stacey and Jason Endy, Canton, OH; three nieces: Autumn, Devin and Felicia; four great nieces and three great nephews; and a numerous friends. A memorial gathering to remember and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 11 a.m. to Noon at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) with a brief service to be held immediately following the visitation. In honor of her wishes, Dee will be cremated and her urn placed with her brother Michael’s urn in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
