Donna Capalbo, 75, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018. She was born October 16, 1942 in Hamilton, OH, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Viars) Stillwagon. Donna was a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. A professional woman, far ahead of her time, Donna became the Department Head of Nuclear Medicine at the former Aliquippa Hospital. She was also the owner and operator of The Spinning Wheel, a home décor and craft store in New Brighton. Donna enjoyed scrap booking and antiques; and was an avid reader of history and tracing family genealogy.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her birth father: Charles Bowling who tragically lost his life while serving in the Merchant Marine during WWII.
Donna is survived by one son: Don Isler, New Castle; one daughter and son-in-law: Jan (Jayme) O’Brien, New Castle; five grandchildren: Courtney O’Brien, Jayme O’Brien, Jr., Jennifer Montes, Stacy Isler and Chelsey (Avery) Pears; three great grandchildren: Juan, Kaylee and Axel; two brothers and a sister-in-law: James (Nada) Stillwagon, Jr. Koppel, PA; Carl Stillwagon, Florida; Several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial gathering is being held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum), with brief service to celebrate her life beginning at 3 p.m. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com
