

Dorothy (Pflugh) Tate, "Grammy", 82, of Patterson Township passed away at her home , March 20, 2010 while surrounded by her loving family that adored her. She was born in Beaver, PA on June 18th 1927, the daughter of the late Ralph J. & Nellie Hineman Pflugh, and was preceded in death by her Husband of 48 years, Maurice E. Tate; two sisters, Helen Russell Cataline & Frances Brewer; and two grandsons , Robert Jay Jr. & Joshua Jay Tate.
She is survived by one brother; Ralph Pflugh (Niki), Alamogordo, NM. Her three daughters; Martha Moser (Wayne) New Brighton, Brenda Gross (Ken), Bakersfield, CA, Sheila Alvaro (Terry) Chippewa; five sons Gary (Marilee) Patterson Twp., Jim (Renee) New Brighton, Bob West Mayfield, David (Edwina-girlfriend) Patterson Twp., Lysle (Pam) Chippewa; 15 grand-children (Wives); David & Keith(Julie) Moser; Gary (Bj) & Ryan(Kelly); Michael, Heidi, Jonathan, & Daniel Gross; John(Julie) Rudi ; Lisa & Courtney; Jake & Jeremy; Katie & Kara, and six step grandchildren; Corey Rayl & Shaun Seery; Tracie Scranton, Hollie Alvaro, Dusty Heater & Bethany Allison. Four great granddaughters, six step great grandchildren, one step great great grandson, several nieces & nephews, as well as special friends Martha Black, LueAnn Capo, & Harry Harper.
Dorothy was the “Rock” of the Tate family. She was a witness for Christ and all who knew her were inspired by her faith which was the cornerstone of her existence. She was an active member of the Marion Hill Alliance Church. She dedicated her life to helping others and had a God-given talent of playing the piano which touched the lives of groups such as Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls Plaza Senior Group, Cambridge Village and the Beaver Rotary Club where she was made an honorary member. She also ministered through her music at numerous Christian & Missionary Alliance Churches in the Beaver Valley, The New Brighton Church of God, & The First Congregational Church of Beaver Falls.
Friends will be received today, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. in the Marion Hill Alliance Church, 4706 Rochester Road, New Brighton, with Rev. Paul Morris, officiating. Additional visitation will be held in the church one hour prior to the service. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
