

Eleanor Jane Lindsay, age 95, passed peacefully in her home on November 28 under the care of Pinnacle Hospice Care. Born May 24, 1930 in Rochester, Pennsylvania, Eleanor was a daughter to the late Oscar and Pina Louise (Erb) Burg and a very large and loving family. She is survived by her brother, Donald (late, Janet) Burg and sister, Gloria (Bill) Thiel and preceded in death by siblings Frank (Tacy) Burg, Mildred Young, Naomi Adams, Oscar (Delores) Burg, ‘Les’ (Marge) Burg, Raymond Burg, ‘Will’ (Betty) Burg, John Burg, Richard (‘Sis’) Burg.
Eleanor enjoyed many hobbies, dancing, bowling, and cards where she was part of the same card club for more than 75 years. She and her late husband, Hugh Lindsay, were very happily married for 63 years. The two traveled extensively, spending several decades wintering in Tucson Arizona.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandy (David) McCord, Crystal (Bob) Sowinski, and Karen (late John Nowakowski) Lindsay and five grandchildren; Kelly (Gregg Domroe) Anderson, Stacey (Jeff) Pacetti, Jon (Jessica) DeHaven, Ashley (Daniel) Metelsky, and Lee (Dana) DeHaven and nine great grandchildren (Logan, Maddie, Braeden, Jack, Avery, Lily, Caleb, Finley and Isaac), and preceded in death by grandson, Mark Robert.
Eleanor was an active participant of both Zion United Methodist Church and Economy United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her generosity, faith, and deep love for her family and friends.
Friends are welcomed to a visitation on December 3, 2025, from 2:30pm until the time of Funeral Services at 6:30pm at Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Economy United Methodist Church, 350 Stang Road, Freedom PA 15042.
