

Elizabeth Barbin Rainbow, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010, while under the compassionate care of the staff at Elmcroft of South-Beaver. She was born February 8, 1922 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Hallett) Barbin. Elizabeth retired after being employed at Penn State Beaver Campus where she had served as an administrative assistant to the Campus Director. She was a faithful member of North Branch United Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Deacons for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Thomas Barbin; four sisters: Grace Polosky, Helen Hall, Katherine Brady and Anna Mae Hanna.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband: John F. Rainbow, they would have celebrated 64 years of marriage in October, two daughters and sons-in-law: Marsha and Ron Oates, Peoria, AZ; Nancy and Chuck Inman, New Brighton; four grandchildren: Christy Begley and her husband Shane; Megan Oates, Scot Inman and Matt Oates; and three great grandchildren.
Friends will be received today, July 7, 2010, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Steiner, officiating. Private entombment will follow.
