

Frederick “Harvey” Frank, born November 12, 1944, loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, died August 4, 2015 at the age of 70, after a long battle with cancer. Son of Dorothy Logan and Howard Frank, and stepson of Ralph Logan, he grew up in Beaver Falls, PA where he was a 1962 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in guidance from Youngstown State University. He taught in the Warren City School District, Warren, OH for 36 years as an elementary school teacher and high school guidance counselor.
A supportive and wonderful father and grandfather, he was involved in both of his children’s sporting events and activities, and baseball games of his grandson. He was always giving to other people and valued all of his friendships from elementary school to high school to college and throughout his life. He enjoyed reminiscing about his youth growing up in Beaver Falls, playing golf with his friends, and remained a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Beaver Falls.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sherie Abert Frank, daughter Brittney (Chad) Scharver, son Grayson Frank, a brother Howard (Dianne) Frank, three wonderful grandchildren, Nolan Frank, Lia Scharver and Tyson Scharver, and many special people in his life including sister-in-law Janet Idzojtic, cousins Margaret (Peggy) Winters and Bruno Campese, Nikki Frank, and many special nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many, many special friends. He is preceded in death by parents Dorothy Bartko Logan, Howard G. Frank, stepfather Ralph H. Logan, stepbrother Bobby Logan, mother-in-law Hazel Abert and father-in-law Carl “Charlie” Abert.
Friends will be received Friday, August 7, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A blessing service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. with Deacon Harry DeNome, St. Monica Parish, officiating. Private interment will follow in the Garden of the Last Supper, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
