

Born and raised in New Brighton, Pa. Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late George and Shirley Jean Thomas (Burns). She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 51 years, Ronald B. Caler, her cherished son, Jeffery Caler, Her brother George Thomas Jr, Sister Phyllis Ann Rice, and her Nieces Charlotte Rice & Cheryl Ludemann.
Gloria is deeply mourned by her loving family: her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Veronica Caler of White Twp, Pa; her daughter, Darcy Gilmore of Ellwood, Pa; and her treasured grandchildren: Lauren Gailey (Ellwood, Pa), J.R. Gailey (Ohioville, Pa), Ashley Caler (Milton, FL), Samantha and Chuck Simmons (Pace, FL), Justin and Taylor Gilson (Enon Valley, Pa), Amanda Gilmore (Patterson Twp, Pa), Tiffany Caler (Marienville, Pa), Zack Caler (Aliquippa, Pa), and Paige Caler (White Twp, Pa).
She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Sherry Wagner, along with Sherry’s children, Dawn and Jarrett of Big Beaver; a brother in law; Rich (Sally) Caler of Freedom, and 17 great-grandchildren: Isabella and Itallia Basalyga, Adalynn Moore, Azurite Herrington, Adrianna, Cole, Cameron, and Audrey Simmons, Olivia, Chloe, and Lincoln Hill-Gilmore, Pandora and Wesley Williams, Jameson and Jackson Gilson, and Skyler Eaton. Gloria’s passing is also deeply felt by her lifelong best friend, Mary Coulter.
Gloria worked numerous years at Waites Ice Cream in Patterson Twp, Pa and also she served 19 years in the Patterson Twp. Ladies Auxiliary. For many years, Gloria also worked as a waitress at the Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe, where her warm smile, tireless work ethic, and heartfelt kindness made her a favorite among patrons and coworkers alike. She gave generously of her time and spirit, always making others feel seen, heard, and cared for.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gloria was the heart of her family—a constant presence of love, support, and laughter. Her youthful energy and unwavering devotion to her grandchildren were a testament to the special bond she shared with each of them.
Per her wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. However, the family will be hosting a celebration of life party to remember and celebrate the incredible woman she was. It will be held at West Mayfield Fire Dept. Social Hall on June 7, 2025 at 1:00pm. Please Dress casually or wear Pittsburgh Steeler’s apparel.
Gloria Jean Caler’s life was one of quiet strength, enduring love, and simple joys. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
