

Herbert E. Rose, 87, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, while under the compassionate care of Cornerstone Villages Hospice. He was born April 7, 1928 in Racine, OH, son of the late Herbert Eldo Rose and Gladys Marie (Johnson) Rose. Herb proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force during WWII.
Following his honorable discharge, he began a long and rewarding career as a machinist with Babcock & Wilcox Steel retiring after 36 years of service. He also owned and operated the Posturematic Adjustable Bed Company for 15 years. Herb was a member of the Pennsylvania Club of Lady Lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Matthew E. Rose; and a sister: Verna L. Rose Sayfreed.
Herb is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, June R. (Lash) Rose, Lady Lake, FL; a son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Vicki Rose of Ohioville, PA; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Cynthia L. Carlquist, New Brighton, PA; Karen and William Simon, Fombell, PA; Lenora Lewis, West Springfield, Erie, PA; Kathy and Randy Starcher, New Brighton, PA; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Lenora Rossman, Beaver Falls, PA; Clara Custer, East Palestine, OH; two brothers: Clyde Barr, Beaver Falls, PA; and Clarence Barr, Darlington, PA.
Arrangements were by, and a committal service was held at, the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., Rochester, PA with private entombment in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com.
