John R Bruce, age 88, of Economy, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Celebration Villa in Chippewa. John was born December 14, 1934, in Aliquippa, he was the son of the late John W. and Etta (Elsheimer) Bruce. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruthie, three brothers, and a sister. John retired from LTV steel, and later was a school bus driver. He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast, traveling the country on his Honda Goldwing with his loving wife. He will be remembered by his family for his sense of humor and his many skills in carpentry.
Surviving are his two sons; David (Karen) Bruce, and William Bruce; four grandchildren; Nikki (K.C.) Kushin, Rachel (J.P.) Wetzel, Ashley (Jonathan) Hileman, and Blair (Brendon) Petersheim. Also surviving are ten great grandchildren; Keira Natalie, Nathan Michael, James Preston, Mikalah Jordan, Colten Joshua, Jack David, Liam Asher, Ivy Marie, Beckett Bruce and Declan Joel.
Friends will be received on Friday, September, 22, 2023 from 4-8pm and funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 11:00am at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
