Mary H. Runner, 81, of Economy Borough went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She was born May 3, 1938 in Buckhannon, WV, daughter of the late Carl and Dortha (Tenney) Rowan.
Mary retired from Phoenix Glass after more than 30 years of service. She was also a licensed hairdresser and an avid gardener.
A woman of deep faith, she loved her Lord, read her Bible and shared her faith with anyone who would listen. Family was exceedingly important to Mary as she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a humble example of Proverbs 31. “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter at birth: Donna Faye. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years: William H. Runner; six children and spouses: Linda (William “Bill”) Teter, Chester, SC; Mary Ann Bennett, Natrona Heights, PA; Sandy (Bob) Friedrich, St. Cloud, FL; Kima (Dean) Vidovich, Conway; Tamar Runner, Economy Borough; William H. (Barbara) Runner, III, Baden; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; she was one of twelve children, with seven brothers and four sisters.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum), with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following the visitation. Acts 2:21 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com
