He was born September 12, 1951 in Rochester, son of the late Imrich and Veronica (Revicky) Gala. He was a lifetime resident of Beaver County and employed as a machinist in the tool and die industry. Rich’s attention to detail was evident in all of his endeavors. He was proud of his 40 plus years of service at Economy Tooling Corporation, Ambridge.
Those who knew Rich best understood he was most at home helping someone who needed a helping hand or cutting the grass. He also enjoyed going to the dirt track races as Lernerville Speedway. Rich especially loved when his nephews would call and ask for his advice or help whether working on a tractor trailer or cutting down trees. His mile-wide smile would let them know he was happy being a part of a project.
In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his loving and supportive sister: Elizabeth Veronica Gala Wargo; and his brother-in-law: James Barto.
Rich is survived by his beloved sister: Marjorie Gala Barto, New Sewickley Township; nephew David Barto and son James; nephew Lee Barto, Daugherty Township and sons Jesse and Coltan; niece Susan (Paul) Barto Davis, New Sewickley Township and daughters: Desiree and Tina; brother-in-law: Jerome Wargo of Aliquippa; much beloved nephews Jerome “Jay” (Jessica) Wargo, Enon Valley; and John “J.B.” (Kathy) Wargo, Economy Boro; great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Also to mourn his loss is his former wife: Leona Harn Gala and her son Richard A. Snyder, Jr and his wife Dannella and daughter Crystal.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mark and Suzanne Kubick of Economy Tooling Corporation for their loyal and generous support of Rich through the years.
In honor of his wishes, cremation arrangements were by the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
