Russell Summerville

Russell F. Summerville, age 62, of Freedom, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Born, December 21, 1963, in Rochester, he was the son of the late Darl and Ruth Ann (Myers) Summerville. Russ enjoyed family gatherings, especially being at camp with family. Weather it was hunting season, family picnics, or reunions, it often centered around his camp, family, and food. Russ also loved being on tractors. Russ worked at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park for 4 decades, operating the backhoe, and being familiar with every inch of the Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years; Margie (Zeiber) Summerville, two sons; Nathan (Ashley) Summerville and Trystyn (Tabatha) Summerville, four daughters; Ashley, Amanda and Amber Summerville, and Misty (Michael) Evans, 21 grandchildren; Raelyn, Eligh, Kasen, Hadyn, Preston, Dawson, Gwendalyn, Riley, Hadlee, Lane, Kaiden, Meadow, Nash, Wyatt, Savannah, Alyssa and Jordan, Ian, Isabella, Kaleb, Klaire. Also surviving are two sisters; Cindy and Darlene (Bill).

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son; Joshua Wine and a daughter, Mckayla Summerville.

Friends will be received on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and Friday, January 23, 2026 from 10am until the time of Funeral Services at 12 noon at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074.
