Allen R. Elliott, 89 of Rockford passed away September 1, 2014. Born April 22, 1925 in Rockford; he was the son of Frank J. and Gladys (Baldwin) Elliott. He married Iola Small on October 28, 1950 in Cherry Valley.
A WWII U.S. Army Veteran, Allen served his country during the European Theater under the leadership of General George S. Patton Jr. He retired from Barber-Colman Company after 30 years of employment.
Allen enjoyed wood working, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Iola Elliott; daughter, Linda (John) Totten; son, Michael Elliott; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his special companion and loving pet dog, Molly; and many relatives, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Raymond Elliott; and sister, Helen Vandendriesshe.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7000 W. State Street. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. Online condolences may be submitted at advantagerockford.com
