Arleen F. Barbata Todd, 77, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021 at Sienna on Brendenwood. She was born July 8, 1943 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Victor and Anne (Bruni) Barbata. Arleen graduated from Muldoon High School in 1961 and attended St. Anthony School of Medicine School of Nursing. Upon graduating with her degree as a registered nurse, she began her career working at Rockford Memorial Hospital and then went onto Highland Hospital in Belvidere, IL. For the majority of her career she was the school nurse at Belvidere Junior High School. She also was employed at Brookside Medical Clinic where she specialized in pediatrics. Towards the end of her career she worked work in the Caledonia and Harlem School Districts. In 1998, Arleen furthered her nursing degree and obtained her Master’s degree in education from National-Louis University.
Arleen was a long time member of St. Anthony’s Parish and a former member of St. Rita’s Parish. Arleen was known for her green thumb and for her love of houseplants. She had a beautiful sunroom full of beautiful plants and amazing ferns. Arleen loved to travel and spend time anywhere there was sunshine. She enjoyed having lunch with her girlfriends and being a part of her book club with many of her close friends. Arleen loved to play bocce ball with her friends and her aunt, Rosie Curry, at St. Ambrogio Society Social Club. She loved making Italian wine cookies to give to family and friends each year and she especially loved spending time with her daughters, sons-in-law and her three grandsons.
Arleen is loved and missed by her daughters, Cassandra (Carl) Buccellato and Vanessa (Michael) Wochner; three grandsons, Michael Buccellato, Andrew Wochner, and Marcus Buccellato; as well as numerous nieces,nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton Todd, and father of her children Gerald Dal Pra.
Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford, IL 61107. Inurnment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no visitation will occur.
