Brian was born on January 17th, 1968 in Rockford, IL, the son of Gerald and Robin (Crowell) King. After graduating from West High School in 1986, he continued his education at Northern Illinois University. It was during this time that he met Nicole Schavland, who he would marry on September 16th, 2000. Brian started his career working for TIG as a Private Investigator; the company’s very first employee. He would remain with the company throughout his life, enjoying the growth it experienced.
Brian loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He enjoyed swimming and fishing in lakes and oceans, as well as hiking in the mountains. He had a very keen eye for spotting wildlife and possessed an extensive knowledge of different species. Brian was a lifelong member of Central Christian Church where he helped teach the Sunday school class of 2 & 3 year olds. Brian was enormously caring and supportive of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Brian is survived by his wife Nicole; sons Jacob King and Mark King; parents Gerald and Robin King; sister Stacy (Keith) Korasick; brother Brad (Katie) King and a host of family and friends who adored Brian.
Visitation for Brian will be Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Central Christian Church 6595 Guilford Road in Rockford. Services will be 10:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the church. Advantage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
