

Charles A Hamilton, age 89, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born October 14, 1936 in Beloit, Wisconsin to John and Ruth (Johnson) Hamilton. Chuck married the love of his life, Beverly Taylor, on April 24, 1955 in Beloit, Wisconsin and they spent 60 wonderful years together before she passed in 2016. He worked for many years as an Operating Engineer at Rockford Blacktop.
Chuck was a member of the Local 150 Operating Engineers Union and the Venetian Club. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting with Beverly and feeding the birds in later years. Chuck had a green thumb, his vegetable garden produced many harvests over the years. He was a social butterfly, every person he met was a friend waiting to be made. Most of all, Chuck loved spending time with his family.
Chuck is survived by his children, Tom (Darla) Hamilton, Tim (Cindy) Hamilton, Penny (Peter) Edwards, Terry (Margie) Hamilton, and Kathy Hamilton; grandchildren, Philip Hamilton, Amanda (Jason) Huber, Andrea Hamilton, Ryan (Crissy) Edwards, Michael (Chelsey) Edwards, Kile (Lisa Atanasoff) Hamilton, and Cody Miles; and great-grandchildren, Xavier Huber, Alexandra Huber, Grayson Hamilton, Charlotte Edwards, and Maila Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Hamilton; parents, John and Ruth Hamilton; and sister, Carolyn Haggerty.
A special thanks to Veronica Roberson, Heather Hartman, and the staff at Mo Cara Hospice for their wonderful care of Chuck and the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, services pending.
