Dale E. Morrison Sr. went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2021. He was born in Flint Michigan to Myrtle and Edward Morrison Sr. on January 21, 1941. Dale was raised in the church, and his faith was the driving force in his life. He served at Byron 1st Assembly of God, and preached for those in nursing homes such as P.A. Peterson and Heritage Woods. He even visited prisons to share the love of God to those incarcerated. Dale was an avid fisherman, and a talented horseshoe player. He was no stranger to hard work and spent some time in construction. He was strong and determined in his work. For Dale, toughness came naturally, he hardly flinched when faced with wood working accidents and a particular work incident with a crowbar. On January 11, 1963 he married the love of his life, Mary, and they spent 56 years of loving marriage together. He was deeply dedicated to his faith, his wife, and his family. His grandchildren were spoiled with candy and sweet tea upon their visits and Dale was known for a sweet tooth himself. He is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his children; Kyle (Bitsy) Morrison, Jeanie (Ed) Breedlove, Valerie (Andy) Abramat, Lonnie (Tammy) Morrison, and Tracy Smith, his siblings; Larry Morrison, Carol Craddock, Charleen Morrison, Marilyn Morrison, and Edward Morrison Jr. sister in law; Ruth (Jim) Blasingame and family, 21 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and church family whom he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his loving wife; Mary Morrison, his parents; Myrtle and Edward Morrison Sr, brother; David (Marie) Morrison Sr. and his children; Robin Weaver, and Dale Morrison Jr.
A memorial service for Dale is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 at Belvidere First Assembly of God located at 1105 7th Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 at 2:00pm. A limited walk through visitation will be held at 1:00pm until the time of service.
