Daniel Ramirez Hernandez, 61, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. Born May 2, 1956 in Torreon, Mexico. Son of Baltazar and Santiaga (Ramirez) Hernandez. At the age of 15 he came to the United States on his own by train to start a new life. Married Beverly Randerson on October 5, 1985 and together they raised two children. His working career started at St. Elizabeth’s Center doing community work to Elco where he retired after 30 years. He found great pleasure in golfing, cooking and drawing. He had a great sense of humor. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survived by his children, Crystal Howard, Daniel (Kelsey) Hernandez, Josh Hernandez; grandchildren, Faith Dye, Daniel Dye, Roman Hernandez, Dominique Hernandez, Ario Hernandez, Gabriel Hernandez, Damien Howard, Alberto Alegria, Nathaniel Thomas; numerous family in Mexico and Texas. Predeceased by his parents; son, Danny Thorrell.
Memorial Service at 10 a.m. on Friday June 30 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State St, Rockford. Visitation at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 29.
