Ellen L. Wilcox, 78, of Roscoe passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Wesley Willows in Rockford. She was born in Wausau, WI on January 1, 1943, the daughter of John William and Eleanora Clara (Eickemeyer) Urban. Ellen married Darwin D. Wilcox on August 8, 1970. She was a graduate of Valparaiso University and earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois. Ellen worked as a Social Worker for the State of Illinois helping with kids in need. She was a member of Cross & Crown Lutheran Church, she loved music and enjoyed playing cards and golf with all her friends. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
Ellen is survived by her husband Darwin; son Deryk (Laura) Wilcox of Naperville; daughter Kara (Andrew) Wallace of Rockton; grandsons: Ethan and Noah Wilcox; brother-in-law Barton (Karin) Wilcox of Rockford. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service to celebrate Ellen’s life will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 19, 2021 at Cross & Crown Lutheran Church 7404 Elevator Road in Roscoe, IL; visitation for Ellen will be from 10-11 AM at the church.
