Francis Kahler

Francis “Bud” M. Kahler, 92, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, November 09, 2011, at Swedish American Hospital. He was born on September 16,1919, in Mason City, IA, the son of Charles and Mary Kahler. Francis married Yvonne Fannan in Minneapolis, on May 2, 1942, she preceded him in death on June 15, 2008. Bud was a member of United Lutheran Church. He worked for the Brearley Corporation for over 30 years. Bud really enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens. Left to share in his memory are; his children; Gary (Sandra) Kahler of Machesney Park, Cynthia (George) Pawlo of Long Valley, NJ, Keith (Linda) Kahler of Tampa FL, grandchildren; Kevin, Paul, Peter, Michael, Douglas, and Lori, step-grandchildren; Jeniffer, Steven, and Debbie, great-grandchildren; Hunter, Raven, Griffin, Lillian, Grace, and Annabelle, step-great-grandchildren; Kylie, Sophia, Julie, Jaclyn, and Oscar, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne, his Parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7000 W State St Rockford IL 61102. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 10 a.m. at United Lutheran Church, 3630 N Rockton Ave Rockford IL 61103. Lie In State at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Rev. Krista Zimmerman will conduct the services. Entombment will follow the services at Willwood Burial Park. www.mem.com
