Jesse G. Owens, age 42, of Roscoe, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 in Rockford, Illinois. He was born August 3, 1982 to Bruce Jackson and Gwen (Owens) Smith in Rockford, Illinois. Jesse worked at Emmi Roth as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
Jesse enjoyed riding his motorcycles and his dirt bikes. He liked to work on things, taking them apart to learn how they operate and putting them back together. He loved eating snacks and biscuits and gravy, and he loved a crisp Sprite. Most of all Jesse loved being a dad.
Jesse is survived by his fiancé, LeeAnna Magin; children, Nathyniel Coltsyn, Daegan Williams, Kora Juno, Aryn Owens, and Jessi Owens; step-children, Alohna Taylor, Annabell Wibbens, Leslie Bain, Rodrick Bain, and Kendall Williams; mother, Gwen Smith; father, Bruce Jackson; and siblings, Heather Smith, Natasha (James) Seitz, Victoria Jackson, and Bruce “Zachary” Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia and GB Owens, and Bonnie and James Smith.
A visitation will be held for Jesse on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W State Street, Rockford, IL 61102. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM.
