Mary L. Poe

Mary L. Poe, 78, of Belvidere, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Mercy Health-Riverside after a long illness. She was born July 18, 1940 in Corning, AR, the daughter of James D. and Ivory (Hafferty) Hinkle. Mary loved the Lord and was a faithful servant to First Born Ministries in Loves Park. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed fishing, especially catfish. Most of all, Mary loved her family.

Mary is loved and missed by her children, Ivory Darlene Stanphill, Debra (Ralph) John, Donald (Vonda) Poe, Darrell (Simi) Poe and Dodie Christina LeVoy; grandchildren, Ted (Dagi) Stanphill, Jim (Pam) Stanphill, Ivory Teresa Frye, Donnie Poe, Jayson Poe, Shannon (Kenny) Rogers, Christopher Philbee, Kristi Coon, Donda Poe, Lisa (Tom) Gerdes, Jennifer (Tony) Calderala, Matthew John, Austin (Ashley) Poe, DeAndra (Joe) Linville, Devin (Mikayla Roush) Weaver, Brandon LeVoy, and Stephanie LeVoy; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alvin Hinkle, John Hinkle, Wayne Hinkle, Leon Hinkle, Dale Hinkle, Polly Simmons, and Caroline Dusza. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emmanuel “Billy Ray” Poe; and siblings, Carl Hinkle, Walter Hinkle, Tilda Meadors, Essie Pennington, and Bessie Hinkle.

A visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2019 at First Born Ministries, 8213 North Alpine Rd, Loves Park, IL 61111. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
