Melvin L. Brock, 94, born October 4, 1916, in Wright City, Oklahoma, quietly passed into eternity on May 25, 2011. He served his country honorably in WWII and lived in Rockford, Illinois for many years. He married Fay Mabee, who preceded him in death. He was father to three children and two stepchildren… Diane Goetsch, Lancaster, California; Nona Sarver, Rockford, Illinois; and Ben Brock, Stillwater, Minnesota; Darlene Garner, High Point, North Carolina; and Sharon Galuszka, Palmetto, Florida. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He lived a long full life and will be missed. Visitation from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, followed by a graveside service at Willwood Burial Park.
