Pamela Northrup

Pamela Michele Northrup (known as Ruby by some) was born on July 18, 1943 in Auburn, Washington to Doris Wells. She passed away at her home in Rockford, Illinois with family by her side on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the age of 80.

Pam married the love of her life, Carl Northrup, on December 5, 1959. They were married for 47 years before Carl passed in 2006.

She was a hard worker and was employed at Peterson Cleaning until her retirement at age 74.

Pam was a very giving and selfless person. She opened her home and her heart to anyone in need. She was room mom to all, she was her sons’ loudest supporter at every baseball game, and she provided food and shelter to the neighborhood strays for decades.

Pam is survived by her children: Carl Northrup, Rebecca (Charles) Stanford, Mark Sr (Linda) Northrup; grandchildren Kyle, Brandon, Jordan, Joshua, Sarah, Mark Jr, and Nichole; many great-grandchildren; and brother Pat Wells.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Northrup Sr; mother, Doris Wells; special brother, Mike; and siblings Jimmy, John, and Ethel.

A special thank you to ProMedica Hospice, especially Ellie “Ellsie” and Frida. The family is forever grateful for their love and compassion the past six months.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W State St, Rockford, Illinois, 61102. Funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Willwood Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or Misfit Felines in Stoughton, Wisconsin, who so lovingly helped rescue Pam’s cats.
