Princess Byers, 69, Rockford, passed away on May 9, 2013 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was born on August 4, 1943 in Rockford to DeWolfe and Berniece (Knott) Edwards. She married Frederick Byers Jr. in 1968 and they had 5 children.
Princess was a hard worker and dedicated her life to God and to raising her children. She loved to garden, and knew everything there was about plants.
She is survived by her children, Julie (Michael Bitton) Byers, Ryan Byers, Angela (Mark) Nealand, Ben Byers, and Mandi Hart; 10 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She is also survived by special friend, Mike Anderson, whom she cared deeply about.
Princess is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral service will be at 2pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford. Pastor Wendell Maynard will be officiating. Visitation will be from 12pm to time of service. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens
