Sharon Kay Mock, age 80, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born May 19, 1944, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Alvin and Louise (Dirks) Schmidt. Sharon graduated from high school in Illinois and went on to work many customer service jobs through the years. She loved creating art in many forms, such as oil painting and pastels, crocheting, knitting and making clocks. Sharon was a private person but loved hearing about all of the family members. She was proud to be a twin sister to Karen M. Hopkins, who passed in 2016.
Sharon is survived by her nieces, Corina Hopkins, Elizabeth Phillips, Robin (Charles) Watson and Susanne (Jeffrey) Bailey; nephews, Donald (Carolyn) Erickson, Daniel (Tori) Erickson, Dennis (Stephanie) Erickson, Douglas (Michele) Erickson; brother-in-law, Rudolph Erickson; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Karen Hopkins and sister Donna Erickson.
A private graveside inurnment will take place.
