

He was born in Auburn, Maine on September 11, 1928. He was the son of Clifford A. Parsons and Helen (Sylvester) Parsons.
He grew up and attended schools in Livermore Falls. In 1946 his family moved to Auburn and he graduated from Edward Little High School in 1946. He graduated from Mcintosh College in 1950, Gorham State Teachers College in 1956 with a B.S. in Education.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952, including time in Korea.
He married Amanda Bamford in 1950, and they raised four children together. He taught Industrial Arts in Fairfield, Mechanic Falls and Mexico, Maine. He retired in 1987 after teaching for 31 years. He continued to serve as a Substitute teacher after his retirement. During summer teaching breaks he was a Trip and Campcraft counselor, and teacher of the Junior Maine Guide Program at Camp Arcadia in Casco, Maine for many years, Cliff himself was a Senior Maine Guide as well.
He is survived by two sons David and wife Paula, Peter and wife Naoko and two daughters Martha and Deborah, and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Clifford was predeceased by his wife Amanda, his father and mother Clifford and Helen and his brother Lendall.
