

He was born June 7, 1926 in Rumford the son of Harry and Thelma (Tait) Casey.
Daniel worked as an electrician for the Rumford Paper Mill. After retiring from the mill he owned and operated Casey’s Auto and Gun Sales in Mexico for many years.
He was very adventurous. He rode motorcycles, flew planes, survived a plane crash, hunted, camped, and built houses. The most important times in his life were when he spent time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
Daniel was also active in the community. He served as a member of the board of directors for the Fish & Game Club, the Town of Mexico Planning Board, and the School Board; he was voted “Man of the Year” in Mexico.
He is survived by two sons Stephen Casey & wife Janice and Richard Casey & wife Jeanette; Janice’s daughter Rebecca Winson & husband Lawrence and their children Kendra and Gabriel; 6 grandchildren Ryan Casey & wife Jessica, Angel Casey, Peter Casey & wife Amanda, Paul Casey & wife Melissa, Aindrea Diehl & husband John, and Melissa Hamilton & husband Brandon; 13 great grandchildren Emma, Ethan, Marie, Roman, Gavin, Savannah, Vallen, Vivienne, Anderson, Harrison, Izabel, Cael, and Charlet; a brother William Casey.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret and son David.
Visitation was 5-7 pm Friday, October 28 at Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot Street, Rumford (Masks are requested by the family)
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Noon, October 29 at the ST. ATHANASIUS & ST. JOHN Church, 126 Maine Avenue, Rumford
