Hubert Samuel Palmer

1939-2022

Hubert Samuel Palmer, 82, passed away Sunday February 13th at the Rumford Community Home.

He was born December 19, 1939 in Rumford the son of Herbert D and Alfa (Rand) Palmer. He graduated from Dixfield High School and attended University of Maine, Orono.

He married Nancy Bauer on December 31, 1960, they celebrated 58 years together before her passing on May 10, 2019. For many years Hubert worked as a rewinder for the Rumford Paper Mill.

As a young man, he enjoyed outdoor activities. He loved reading and crossword puzzles with a Dr. Pepper. Gathered around his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him the most happiness.

Hubert is survived by his brother Brian. Daughter Tamara and husband Pete, his son David, son Randall and wife Carol and son Timothy and wife Johanna. Eight grandchildren Tyffani Hoff and husband Matt, Samuel Palmer, Joey Worthley, Savannah Garcia and husband Michael, Amber Collins, Kayla Spitzer and husband James, Brittany Drapeau and husband Philip, and Joshua Palmer and wife Brianna. And his most cherished fifteen great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Nancy, his sister Joyce, his son Michael and great granddaughter Nevsa.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 pm Monday, February 28th at the S G Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot Street, Rumford.
