Shirley was born on June 11, 1938, to Alma Langevin and Wilfred Sage in Berlin, NH. She graduated from Stephens High School in 1956, where she made friendships that lasted her lifetime. Shirley's work history included J.J. Newberry and G.H. Bass and being a CNA for Androscoggin Home Health.
Shirley was married three times in her life. Shirley had one child with the late David Sanborn, Lisa Sanborn, and her wife Michelle. She also has two stepchildren from her third marriage to the late George Viger, Pam Bentley and Rose Marie Woods, and her husband, Tim. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan Bourret and his wife Karen; Christopher Bourret and his fiance Abby Phillips; Sarah and her husband Zackary Gonzalez; Brittany Coulombe and her fiance Dustin Theriault; Ricky Hebert III; Scott Earley and his wife Amiee; Steven Earley; Whitney Day and her wife Bradi; April DeRoche and her husband Eddie; Dakota Bentley and his wife Mariah along with many great-grandchildren. Shirley was a person of unwavering faith. Over the years, she found solace and strength in her worship at Holy Savior and local Baptist churches, a testament to her spiritual resilience.
Shirley was a very social person with many friends throughout her life. She was often found out having coffee, shopping, or riding along because one of the other friends had an appointment. She was not one to be found sitting at home alone. For the last six years, she has lived at the Somerset Apartments, where she made friends who became family. Reta Purington, Barbara Viger, Gloria Provencher, and Jackie Vinneau helped and supported her with her daily needs, which was why she could live independently for as long as she did.
Shirley's family is grateful for their support, especially this last year.
Shirley requested no services. A private burial is planned for Saturday, November 16, 2024.
