Born in Pocahontas, IL, Jim graduated from St. Louis University with an undergraduate degree in engineering and a graduate degree in business administration, following service in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed a long career in civil engineering. With many hobbies, he particularly loved woodworking and sailing.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Bellm White (Steven), Mark Joseph Bellm (Suzanne), and Kathryn Bellm Alexander (Jason), grandchildren Anthony Martin Miranda, and Luke Noble, Nathaniel James, and Anna Claire Alexander, and siblings MaryAnn Louise Koch and Eugene William Bellm. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Claire Frances Bellm, his parents Eugene Conrad Bellm, Sr. and Irene Stella Bellm, and siblings Ralph Eugene Bellm, Roland Walter Bellm, and Doris Marion Jones.
Private services were held at Miller Funeral Home in Folsom, California on Friday, February 5, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Saint Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in Saint Louis, Missouri. There will be a short visitation from 9-10am at church before Mass begins.
A Rite of Committal will take place immediately after Mass at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, where Full Military Honors will be bestowed.
