James & Josephine, after writing to each other for a series of months, finally met for the first time in April of 1962. Just three months later, they were married on July 14th in San Diego, California. While Jim was in the Navy, he & Jo had their first child, Justine. After twelve months in California they returned to Jo’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois for a short stay before their final destination of New Richmond, Wisconsin. Jo was truly a city girl and relocating to the country was a world of new experiences for her: live farm animals, bugs, and small town living.
Jim and Jo moved to St Paul in 1964 and had their second daughter, Janelle, while living above a T.V. repair shop on Selby and Lexington. By May of 1966 they moved to White Bear Lake and had two boys, Jared and Jason. They have remained in White Bear Lake to present date. Jo spent her life caring for her husband and her children, attending church, teaching confirmation classes, facilitating Girl Scout clubs and leading neighborhood children in Caroling during the Holidays. Her love language was food: if she loved you, she fed you. She always asked you, “Are you hungry, let me get you something to eat?” Josephine was prayer warrior; she loved Jesus, and her family. She was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by parents, Albert & Carmela Varrassi; brother, John Varrassi; and granddaughters, Katie Jo Boor, Hope & Faith Jakubowski. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, James Boor; daughters, Justine (Dan) DeWitt and Janelle (Dan) Guitelli; sons, Jared Boor and Jason (Katie) Boor; grandsons, Brandon DeWitt, and Samuel, John-Michael (Hannah), Evan & Joseph Jakubowski, and Caleb Boor; grand daughters Jillian & Sonia Boor; great grandchildren, Nora & Benjamin Jakubowski; and Brother Ernie (Kathy) Varrassi.
