Bonnie Cummins Garratt, 87, of Salisbury died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at John B. Parsons Home. Born in Bald Knob, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Perry and Beulah Spradlin Cummins.A 1943 graduate of Wicomico High School, Bonnie graduated from Salisbury Teachers College in 1946 and then taught for one year in Bel Air. She worked for the Stamford Advocate for 33 years and after retirement returned to Salisbury. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.She is survived by a brother, Bill Cummins and his wife Sheila of Fallston, MD; nieces and nephews, David Cummins, Ellen Commito, John Cummins, and Keith Cummins; cousins, Luther Cummins, his wife Sherry, and their daughter Angela; and many other cousins.A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2PM at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Bonnie to the John B. Parsons Home Activities Fund, 300 Lemmon Hill Lane, Salisbury, MD 21801.
