James “Jim” Oliver Candy, Sr., 86, of Pittsville passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022. Born February 28, 1936 in Queen Anne’s County he was the son of the late Walter and Bernice Candy. He owned Candy’s Repair Service and later with his wife, they owned and operated Rounds Road Farm. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, ran his sawmill, and made many things in his woodworking shop but especially Christmas items for the kids. He was a people person; no matter who he met, he would remember you. He was a United States National Guard Veteran and a member of Melson United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Sue Candy; seven children, Jimmy Candy (Paula) of Parsonsburg, Karen Ehrisman of Parsonsburg, David Candy (Linda) of Pittsville, Penny White (Steve) of Hebron, Linda Jean Trimble of Pittsville, Willard Morris (Robyn) of Pittsville, and John Matthew Morris (Marsha) of Parsonsburg; twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; Jim’s twin sister, Jane Copage; brother, Wayne “Walt” Candy (Lee); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Glen Candy; and sisters, Mildred Groff, and Clara Jerrald.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 2pm at Melson United Methodist Church, 32705 Melson Rd, Delmar, MD 21875 where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Oltman will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
