Sister, Donna Newman-Russell of Loudon, New Hampshire; a niece, Leigh Ann Hernandez of Salem, New Hampshire; nephews, Robert Michael Dyal of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Christopher Stephen Dyal of
Broomall, Pennsylvania. He resided at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Maryland, for the past 30 years, where he was lovingly tended to by his many friends and caregivers.
Jimmy was born April 30, 1952, in Cheverly, Maryland, later moving to Rock Hall before moving to Salisbury. While living with his parents in Rock Hall, Jimmy enjoyed many activities such as boating, biking, and the ball games in the city park next to his home. He loved all sports including baseball and football, and especially bowling, at which he excelled. Over the years, he participated in Special Olympics, in which he won many awards. He enjoyed recreational outings at Holly Center, especially to arcades, movies, car and truck shows, Ocean City, carnivals, and bowling. He had a great admiration for the armed forces, police, fire and emergency services, and would take every opportunity to give them a handshake. Jimmy loved all animals, especially dogs, and looked forward to visits with therapy animals at Holly Center. He was fascinated with motor vehicles--especially fire engines, trains, school buses and all kinds of trucks. His greatest love was motorcycles. He was an honorary member of the Ruff Ryders of the Eastern Shore and thoroughly enjoyed their visits.
In lieu of a funeral, a memorial service is scheduled for October 11 at 1:30pm at the Holly Center gymnasium, 926 Snow Hill Rd, Salisbury, Maryland. His cremains were interred with his parents at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, Maryland.
