Linda Mae (Larmore) Dennis

Linda Mae (Larmore) Dennis, 82, of Centreville/Queenstown, Maryland passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2024, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Linda faced life’s toughest journey with grace and bravery.

She was born in Cockeysville, MD on August 30, 1941, the middle daughter of 4 children to Edgar and Lillian Larmore. Linda was raised in Salisbury, where she would sing gospels with her sisters on a local radio station on Sundays. Linda met her husband Willis Lee, in a Blueberry patch while picking blueberries for 10 cents a pint. She succeeded at this job due to her ability to get her future husband to fill the pints for her. She was married at the young age of 19 and traveled to Colorado Springs, CO to serve as an Airforce wife. Linda had worked as a secretary at Rosers Car Dealership, was a librarian at the Queen Anne’s County Public Library and finished her career as a secretary at Chesapeake College.

Linda loved playing cards with her friends, cruising, the theater, and visiting a casino and pulling the one arm bandit every now and then. Linda was an amazing grandmother, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren from the minute they were born, and her grandkids will dearly miss her. Before entering the workforce, she was a stay-at-home mom and raised her kids to be responsible teenagers and ultimately responsible adults. Linda enjoyed traveling in retirement. Her travels with Willis Lee took her to Europe, the Caribbean, and much of the US including Alaska and Hawaii. Linda took a genuine interest in all those who she had the pleasure of meeting and developed friendships as far away as Australia.

Linda is survived by her husband of 64 years, Willis L. Dennis, and her two children: Eric (Donna Popovici), of Middletown, RI, and Lisa Stevens (James) of Owings Mills, MD: two grandchildren: Keely Dennis of Groton, CT and James Stevens of Owings Mills, MD. She also leaves behind her younger sister Hope Taylor (Winston) of Wenona, MD. She was pre-deceased by her older sister Gloria Perry Lindemon of Salisbury, MD, and her younger brother Edgar (Skipper) Larmore of Russell, KS.

Linda has donated her body to the Maryland State Anatomy Board and from this selfless act of generosity has provided medical schools and other public health education programs unparalleled resources to teach theory and techniques that promote medical-dental education, improve clinical-surgical practices, positively impact research, and improve public health for generations to come. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11am at Dennis Cemetery.
