Born and raised in Salisbury, he is the son of Joseph Ennis and Rebecca Goslee Ennis. Steve was a roofer by trade, having worked for Peninsula Roofing since the age of 16, and recently retired in 2020. He had been a member of the Parkway Church of God in Salisbury. In addition to the joy he had spending time with his family, his passion was to race his Chevy Nova at the Delmar Racetrack and enjoyed cruising on his Harley.
In addition to his parents Joseph and Rebecca Ennis, Steve is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Kim Ennis; eight children Steven W Ennis, Jr., Kevin Ennis, Christy Hales, Beth Ennis, Brandy Ennis, Stephanie Smith (Duane), Allen Ruark, and Daniel Ennis; step-daughter Brooke Revel, his sister Kimberly Booth; and two brothers Norman and Bobby Ennis; twenty-one grandchildren; and his fur babies Major, Max, Biscuit, Meech, Coco, and Riley.
Visitation will take place on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 6-8pm and on Tuesday April 20, 2021 from 12 noon- 1:00 pm at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E Main St., Salisbury; where funeral services will also take place on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Pastor William Reid from Parkway Church of God will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens, Hebron.
