Thomas Douglas “Doug” Foxwell, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, and Army Veteran passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at his home at the age of 80. Born November 20, 1944 he was the son of the late Thomas Douglas Foxwell, Sr. and Neoma Frances Hastings Foxwell.
Doug’s life was a testament to hard work, dedication and a love for life. Doug proudly served his country in the Army before establishing a successful plumbing business, Foxwell Plumbing with business partner of 50 years, Gary Niblett. He was unwaveringly committed to his clients. Doug’s passion for sailing took him to many beautiful harbors and open waters. He enjoyed scuba diving and visiting lighthouses on his adventures. Doug cherished the quiet solitude of the sea.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Douglas Foxwell, III and Tracey D. Powell and her husband Richard; four grandchildren, Jack Powell and his wife Jordi, April Blackwell and her husband Grant, Logan Foxwell, and Emma Foxwell; two great-grandchildren, Theodore and William Powell; and numerous other family members and friends who will deeply miss his smile. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Faith and Sarah Foxwell “Haleybug” and longtime companion, Barbara Cromwell Lohsen.
A Celebration of Doug’s Life with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 2pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Doug to the Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Dr, Salisbury, MD 21804.
