

William “Billy” Francis Powell “Bucket”, 74 of Salisbury passed away May 5 after a lengthy illness at PRMC. Born in Pocomoke City he was the son of the late Francis and Mae Powell. Billy was a mechanic for 35 years at Car Care. He loved fishing, drag racing, tractor pulls, playing guitar for two local bands, and had a great love for country music. He was a past member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge where he enjoyed dancing with his wife Sharon. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather he loved spending time with his family and looked forward to seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Powell; daughter, April Powell and her companion, Darren Parker; stepson, Bryan Smullen and his wife Mary Lou; three grandchildren, Brittany, Arianna, and Shawn; three great-grandchildren, Raymond, Na’Mier, and Aubree; his faithful companion, his dog Bruce; sister, Deannie and Alice Lee; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Lester and sister, Barbara. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
