Cecilia T. Gonzales

The gates of Heaven were opened for our beloved mother, Cecilia T. Gonzales, on February 21, 2015 at the age of 83. She was born on April 6, 1931 to Martin and Maria de Jesusa Vasquez Trevino in Crystal City, Texas, and is preceded in death by her parents; son, Luis Gonzales; sister, Ramona Hernandez; and brothers: Jesus, Juan, Jose, Domingo, and Martin Trevino Jr. She is survived by her sons: Fernando (Melynda), Mario, Ruben; ex-husband, Fernando Gonzales; sister, Santos Pena of Pomona, California; 7 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Within the last 3 years Cecilia endured special friendships with those at Sarah Roberts French Home. She was a strong woman of faith and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed singing and had a smile so infectious it would brighten anyone’s day. As a young girl Cecilia was a migrant worker. She later moved to San Antonio, TX to raise her 4 boys. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on forever in our hearts. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone at Sarah Roberts French Home and Gentiva Hospice for their extraordinary care and support of Cecilia. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. A procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. to celebrate a 10:30 A.M. Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, 1715 N. Zarzamora.
