Esperanza "Spur" Castiglione

Esperanza “Spur” Castiglione, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 25,1932, in San Antonio, Texas. Spur retired from the U.S. Defense Mapping Agency after 30 years of dedicated civil service as a Cartographic Technician.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Aurelia Barragan; husband Frank Vito Castiglione; brothers John, Ramon, Richard, Jesse and sister Veronica. She is survived by daughter Celia Crouch and her husband Mark Crouch; sisters Beatrice, Gracie, Lupe, Gloria and Alice; grandchildren Kyle Crouch and his wife Cassie Saunders Crouch, and April Crouch; great grandchildren Daryn, Xander, Kaeli and Gunner. Additionally family members Carol Terrell, Colton Terrell, wife Crystal and daughter Lailynn Terrell; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Service will be held at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N Main Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78205 on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 10:00AM with burial to follow at 1:00PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
