Eugene A. Sassman

Eugene A. Sassman, USAF (Ret.) entered rest on September 15, 2012 at the age of 92. Gene was born to Fred and Fenton (O’Banion) Sassman on December 26, 1919 in Creedmoor, Texas. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 23 years of service. He was preceded in death by sisters, Winnie Stewart, Mary Eanes and his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Blaschke) Sassman. He is survived by their children; son, Eugene C. Sassman; daughter, Susan Bushman and husband Bill; brother, Joe Sassman and wife Fay; several nephews, nieces and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Mission Burial Park North with Rev. Richard Grant officiating. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at The Mission, Air Force Village I, 4949 Ravenswood, San Antonio with Dr. Robin Aplet officiating.
