Harvey Edward McBee

Our beloved father and grandpa, Harvey Edward McBee, went to join his wife in eternal rest on October 31, 2010 at the age of 85. He was born to Louis Harvey and Sally McBee on June 2, 1925. Harvey attended St. Gerard’s primary and high school as a member of the Class of 1942. He proudly served his country during WWII as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps, stationed in India. Upon his honorable discharge from the military he came home to finish his education and raise a family like so many of his fellow veterans. Harvey stayed busy playing semi-pro baseball and attended St. Mary’s University graduating in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart and together they raised three children in the Catholic church. He spent most of his career as an accountant with the American Can Company. Harvey was always happy spending time with his family, especially during vacation in Rockport. He also enjoyed coaching his kid’s baseball and softball teams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia June McBee; daughter, Patricia Lynne McBee; grandson, Bryson Asher McBee; brother, Louis E. McBee and leaves behind sons, Harvey E. McBee, II and wife Mitze Anne McBee, Gary M. McBee and wife, Laura L.McBee; five grandchildren: Harvey III, Kathleen, Audrey, Gabrielle, and Mason; sister, Mary Rose Frederick. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
